Nearly two months later, it's been great having this thing around and usable. I've been driving it here and there weekly or more often. About as often as any of the fleet due to the sheer number of them. Let's call it daily driver, then. Tonight I took it out for a spin and upheld the old adage "A burnout a day keeps the doctor away". FreeEMS powered smoke displays FTW :-)

Burning through a bit of that petrol recently, good fun!

But also burning through a fair bit of oil, too. Not such good fun.

And also burning through even more water, not coolant, it vanishes too quickly. Not fun at all. 3 litres per trip approx, pissing out through the water pump, especially under pressure.

And still running on 3 below 2k or so with light load, but all four (more or less!) from 2k up with WOT.

Aside from using oil, and using lots of water, today the weather was pleasant and mild and I was reminded of the lack of cooling fan function by slightly elevated temperatures while not at speed. This car won't get much use over summer, that's for sure.

New WOF this morning, and new motivation to fix the water pump and put the fan under FreeEMS relay control.

Pleasant morning this morning, but by 9am not hot at all, just mild/cool. And still by the time I got home, struggling to stay cool. Was full of water when I left home.

There's a couple of rust spots that've come up, too. Should deal to those before they get worse, I guess.

So:

1) Water pump
2) Fan relay setup
3) 15" wheels/tyres back on
4) Enjoy it over summer
5) Minor body work in 3 or 4 places
6) New WOF in 6 months
