Tuning With The Alpha-N Algorithm

There is no Alpha-N code in FreeEMS right now, however it will be easy to add when required, so it's not a priority. This is a straight copy paste from the #freeems-dev IRC room by baldur. Feel free to add your own ITB oriented tips in this thread and we'll publish it as a webpage later.

[00:04] <@TekniQue> let the engine do a sweep up the RPM range at a fixed throttle opening
[00:05] <@TekniQue> then analyse that and make corrections
[00:05] <@TekniQue> and repeat for the rest of the rows
[00:05] <@TekniQue> and you probably want the load sites spaced unevenly
[00:05] <@TekniQue> so have the low openings very close
[00:06] <@TekniQue> there's no point in having a 90% site
[00:06] <@TekniQue> for example
[00:06] <@TekniQue> because 90% throttle is in almost all cases effectively 100%
[00:09] <@TekniQue> no point in having 90% and 100% is what I meant to say
[00:35] <@TekniQue> the thing about alpha-N is that it's easier to reach all of the load sites than with MAP or airflow based systems
