Introductions!
Re: Introductions!
Yes, that's the correct part. Looks like the price has come back down - was up for a while. That's good.

BTW I also got Coolefi Sportster, and I jumper all IO to Speeduino board. Looks little bit mess, but it work. Any chance using Freems2 on it?
Re: Introductions!
Only by doing a lot of work on that code base, probably.

Re: Introductions!
I hope i've found the right place after weeks of searching??
I am planning to fit a Jaguar 2.0L Turbo diesel (Ford Mondeo/Puma) with the Delphi injection system, into a vintage Bedford CF. I have a heavy background in electronics and precision engineering, but no software skills.
Have I arrived at a place where i 'could' get some help?

I started with absolutely nothing and still have most of it left
Re: Introductions!
Quite possibly, but diesels are tricky beasts to run. There's a commercial product made by a forum member that might interest you if you're not fully stuck on the idea of open sauce software.

Re: Introductions!
I see in Aliexpress/Ebay those mcu are much cheaper, and seller is in China. Why? Any possibility of fake mcu?Fred wrote:Yes, that's the correct part. Looks like the price has come back down - was up for a while. That's good.
Re: Introductions!
Probably fake - I wouldn't trust my engine to those.

Re: Introductions!
Hi guys!
I am Sepp and I hope you all spent some merry Xmas days without Corona.
In 2012 I joined this forum and issued a few questions, but stepped back due to lack of time.
But obviously I lacked to issue a post in this thread those days.
Sorry for that, but I hope, I will do better now.
Ten years ago I was highly busy on my job, being an automotive engineer, mostly focused on EMS:
In my different phases I went through HW-engineering, SW-Engineering and Systems-Engineering and besides that project management.
Today I an retired, which gives me slightly more time for more private-driven EMS interests.
Coming back I would be very much looking forward to seeing, where FreeEMS has progressed compared to 10 years ago.
Happy new year

Re: Introductions!
Hey Sapp2GL, that's some serious lurking! :-D Apologies for the slow delayed reply - however today is just the second day back after holiday :-) I don't always have a computer with me, believe it or not, but in this case it was just that I was super busy with other stuff.
FreeEMS has totally progressed a lot in 10 years, but NOT in the last 5 or so :-D however before the last 2 or 3 it did progress somewhat.
What does the future hold? Who knows, however:
1. I have it on 4 of my cars and that will only grow (5 coming soon)
2. I'm not happy with it yet and when I'm using it on the regular it'll annoy me and I'll be working to fix those issues
3. On my most regularly used car I am dog fooding old public code and would like to run newer/better code so am motivated to finish some of the temporary/trial work that has been in use on various other cars
4. Sooner or later all my cars will be running this and things will annoy me and I'll be working on it to the day I die probably :-)
So definitely not dead, but somewhat dormant, and still in use on several cars besides my own around the world.
Cheers,
Fred.
