What do you think will happen with the first spin of Puma?

Nothing wrong, it works just fine.

It goes up in flames when powered for the first time.

It needs minor (pcb/trace) rework on sub circuits, but basically works.

Sub circuits work, but could use some additional optimization.

One sub circuit fails catastrophically, resulting in nitrousnrg loosing an eye, or finger.

Everything works well, except Fred is right and we have to change the MCU pin out.

Our files appear fine, but there is some kind of MFG problem that requires significant new work.

Fred and Sean take so long getting the firmware usable that everyone gives up and goes home.

Puma Spin 1 Success/Failure Poll

Post by Fred »

Jared came up with an excellent idea, this is a social site after all, a poll to bet on the outcome of this board design and manufacture process!

I added one more option for failure...

Enjoy!

The wakeup circuit is untested, so that needs trial, it won't stop the board being used, though, as worst case, custom hard coded always on firmware could be loaded instead. Such wakeup code doesn't exist right now anyway, but writing it will be a priority once this hardware is up and running, even if we don't use it to do anything interesting for a while.

This poll needs an option like the following:

No subcircuits were 100% correct, some would have caused the magic smoke to come out without prior modification of the board, about 75% required major modification and the remaining 25% required minor modifications.

Lesson learned, I've been hands on with the next one, the developers have been listening, and it's working out to be absolutely awesome! :-)
