Re: Only slightly applicable but...
I work with controllers with these on-board all the time in the HVAC industry, using the flow-cross configuration shown in the document. They are basically a sensitive differential pressure sensor. They are very suitable for a pitot-tube flow sensor as well, which is an idea I threw to the MegaSquirt forums a few years ago. The conclusion from that discussion is that because of the nature of pressure drop vs velocity, the best resolution was in the least practical region of operation.
It looks like with this sensor though, because voltage is proportional to the square root of the pressure drop, when it is combined with the property of pressure drop being proportional to the square of the velocity it makes the resolution fairly linear in all flow rates from idle to wot.

I only just got around to reading it now (been hellishly busy at work) but yes, it's in the right section :-) Thanks OddBall!

No, I've been banned from posting, searching, and messaging because I cross-posted an informational article both here and there. Their loss.Fred wrote:I only just got around to reading it now (been hellishly busy at work) but yes, it's in the right section Thanks OddBall!
