Hi, can those in the know post up the options they have used for this?

I know at least 4 of you have some to share. This thread can make a good reference for that. As you post them up, I can copy the links/comments to this post for an easy to keep track of list.

List : Thanks to those that posted their experiences up!

The company I'm going to deal with in the near future is:

http://advancedcircuits.com/

Previously I've hand-made my boards so I'll let you know how my experience is. The software they offer is pretty decent for a freebie. They claim it to be the best free-designer.

If you're not in a hurry and just need a few boards you can use http://www.batchpcb.com/ which is associated with SparkFun.

For a few more boards, you can use the board house they use which is http://www.goldphoenixpcb.biz/index.php.

Nice. I haven't heard of that before. I'm usually impatient but I like that you have the ability to preview a very small run of boards from the same shop that might do a large run for you. Seems like lots of people get protos through one shop and production runs through another and get burnt when they aren't as good.

In NZ we don't have much choice really. Pretty much anyone who gets boards made here get them done at Advanced Circuits (http://www.advancedcircuits.co.nz/). They're not cheap and they're not fast (at work we have just had to wait a month to get some boards that were meant to be done in 3 days!) but their boards are of quite good quality. Prices are around the $300 mark for an A4 panel double sided and through hole plated (maybe silkscreen if you're lucky) for one-offs. Most companies here get boards made in Singapore, China, etc.

Thanks guys! I've added your links to the first post. I also added my own one that I stumbled upon a while back. It's cheaper in numbers (suitable for a BB later perhaps) but I have no experience with it, does anyone have anything to say about it?

We do the occasional board here, and need quick turns. A guy I trust told me this:
Alberta Prited Circuits: http://www.apcircuits.com/

I use the Basic Prototype Service
He said it's $50 set up, and $0.65/in^2

So, for $115, you can make 100 in^2 of board, so you could make five 4"x5" boards, and only end up spending $23 each on them. And if you get it in by 10 or 11 am, it gets sent by close of business on the second day.

This is great. Now you need to start a thread about PCB software...
