sudo chvt 1 && sudo chvt 7 = screen wakey wakey from CLI - useful for a screen shot while away from home, for example.

If by "partially" you mean, as it looks, to add the minimum Nvidia support to a default xorg.conf file, you can run nvidia-xconfig (part of the nvidia-current package) on the command line as root or via sudo.
