middle use ;)

Post by flat4power »

hi,

After lot work on my vw westfalia bus 1976, my engine run ;)

I didn't get all the part like injectors
so I would if I can run free-ems only for ignition ?
just a trigger wheel and coil-pen for ignition
a simple use like the megajolt board

Yes, of course you can just run ignition! :-) Many a carby setup has run with ignition only before adding EFI to the mix. It's a nice way to go, in some ways. Setting the initial timing requires disabling fueling by running the carbs dry on some other ignition setup before hand. Once you have timing dialed in, you can re-enable ignition.

What is the redline of your bus engine?
What do you plan to do for a trigger setup?

That's fine. With current code you'll be limited to about 5k, though. If that's not a show stopper, do exactly that.

BTW, those are Mario's products. Good on you for supporting small businesses :-)

If you want higher than 5k, go to a lower number of teeth. This may not be an off-the-shelf option, though.

I have some code and ideas to improve max RPM for high-tooth count setups, just need the time to roll it all out. Coming soon, I promise :-)
