Re: FreeEMSer Of The Month

Post by Fred »

I have received two PMs with votes. Both voted for me :-/ I also noted that December has 9 commits in EMStudio history by Mike! Viable, but minimal. I pushed 6 myself the other day, but it's January now and Mike also has 6 in January.

In the mean time, while I ponder bending my own rule to comply with the two PMs, here's a new thread for y'all: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=2379

I hereby congratulate myself (yes, that's self-congratulation, but not of the usual type!) on being Mr FreeEMS of December!

Justification:

Flying around the world and helping three people get FreeEMS cars running and close to running!
Putting up with lies, dishonesty, back stabbing, and other low-end behaviour unexpectedly!
Resurrecting my Hotel Hyundai and forcing it into daily operation by fixing electronics, code and config!
Replying to via's posts on xmas day, and thereafter until he claimed 29th place!
Much much more... :-p

Justification for breaking the no-Fred rule:
Fred wrote:I have received two PMs with votes. Both voted for me :-/
My vote goes to you, Mr Fred Cooke!

For being more of a kiwi bastard than usual and kicking me (and others) up the ass occasionally for motivation.

Whilst I do enjoy it, you are a cock and you deserve recognition! :-P
I nominate Fred Cooke as FreeEMSer of December for following up an ass-busting trip through the US/Canada with an ass-busting trip to NZ and still being fully present to the community.
There was another, but I can't find it right now, nor can I get a copy from the author, so I'll have to post that up later.

May I proudly present January's FreeEMSer: Mr Andy Goss! This award is for his excellent, absolutely fair, and exceedingly generous licensing change! This was easily the single most important thing to happen in the last month. Thank you Andy, you're a star! <3

February's FreeEMSer of the month is a bit of a surprise! Surprise, that person is Aitor of Galicia, Spain! Aitor smashed together a neat little utility that's been coming in awfully handily recently. Recognition where deserved. Thank you for your tool! :-)

Way, way, way behind schedule with this one.

I nominate the following people as FreeEMSers of the months:
  • March Matthew Via for being possibly the best and most inspiring user yet?
  • April Yohu for taking care of my humble hardware needs
  • May Andy for smashing out the HUGE order of 0.7-alpha Jaguars
  • June ME for keeping the mighty Hotel Hyundai alive and legal
June needs your votes to become valid... Suggestions for July via PM welcome.

Totally forgotten what happened from July until recently, but I have a few names to pin up for this month, last month, and the one before. Not sure past that. Any suggestions from July 2014 until now, most welcome. PM me the details.

August has only just begun, however I'm going to get in early and declare our user 'Corbon' as Mr FreeEMS for August 2015! Well deserved and earned over the previous 2 months of taking my shit and out-everythinging me. Awesome dude, general all around nice guy, and much cleverer than his humble rural roots would have you believe :-) Congratulations on your recent success, and a toast to many more to come over the following months, and hopefully years!

July 2015: em_knaps/Daniel, for spinning an old Volvo to an obscene number of RPM in true kiwi style! And for coming up with a clever little tweak that made stuff work in ways it had previously not worked.

June 2015: boostedcabbage/Chris, fastest zero to hero ever? Stuck with it, despite me giving him a fair bit of shit, came through in the end! First Chrysler/Dodge using the ever popular Neon platform!

May 2015: hentai/Justin, resurrected his Miata FreeEMS setup and drove me hard to produce some great new code for him, and for the wider community, too. Thanks for pushing me to deliver, hentai, most appreciated!

April 2015: m2cupcar/Rob, while struggling somewhat with dubious old hardware, pushed himself to learn SMD rework and got his Miata running! Good to see you stretch your own boundaries like that! Well done, old friend! :-)

March 2015: Me, tracked the ute at Hampton Downs, and massive preparation for that day. Requires a couple of PMs in agreement or is null and void. I feel like I earned it, though.

February 2015: Ari/MrOnion very quietly and shyly working away in the depth of a Finnish winter created something wonderful, and yet totally fuct. I'll tell all of you much more on that soon, I hope.

January 2015: johntramp testing of unique firmware code/configuration that had remained unvalidated until then. Good to see the code validated and put into some sort of use. Chur.

I'll add all of these to the first post at some point soon!
