FreeEMSer Of The Month

Post by Fred »

New thread, instead of abusing people who let me down, OK, as well as abusing people who let me down (don't let me down!!!), I'm going to publicly praise those who have been awesome. This is not to say that they will continue to be awesome, or have always been awesome, they're just who I'm really REALLY happy with right now! Don't let it go to your head! :-p

If you want to get into this thread, work hard, be loyal, stay focused, prioritise quality, etc.

I have a short memory, sometimes, so I'm only going to do one month retrospectively.

December's FreeEMSer of the month is Jeff. You don't see or hear much from Jeff, but his quiet contributions are entirely necessary. Just trust me on this one. Thanks for everything, Jeff!

I can't express what this generous honor means to me. Even with today being Christmas, I woke up feeling down and thinking about how complicated life's been now for some time. I'm extremely moved by the gesture and look forward to eventually meeting you folks for beer/wine/whisky, and burnouts.

So thanks, Fred, and thanks to the FreeEMS community. Thanks also to Andy for the Jaguar and encouragement.

I just noticed that my first e-mail to Fred--who I generically addressed as "diyefi.org folks:"--was January 3rd, 2012. It's been a great year knowing you folks and I look forward to many more.

January FreeEMSer of the month was Eric Vortriede for doing ground-breaking firmware unit testing via cross compilation, something I should have done years ago. Full credit to Eric for taking the initiative and making it happen, despite a very busy schedule! I look forward to getting it integrated over the coming months and also to the challenge of writing bug-free code so that he doesn't expose me as a bad dev ;-)
