There is a user on this forum, and quite a few others too, called Hentai.

You can spot him by some of the unique and outrageous things that he does. Through time, in the pecking orders of other forums, he's earned a reputation of not being so bright. Those of us with a sharper eye have watched young Hentai grow over the years and learn through trial error and analysis. He's rarely given credit for this on his regular forums which are largely full of homosexual hair dressers.

On one particular forum that most members here are familiar with, Hentai is largely ignored, and occasionally mocked in subtle rule-compliant ways. He's shown no respect and his grammar/spelling don't help matters, either. He actually knows what he's talking about with respect to some aspects of his build, and yet, time and time again, he's ignored by those clowns who don't actually know what they're doing at all.

Hentai's one wish in life, god only knows why, is to run MAF and have it work properly. I've vowed to help him with that should he get FreeEMS hardware installed on his mighty-miata. What's certain is that he'll never get satisfactory results from his current toy ECU.

So, if we could find the know-how and funds/supplies/PCBs/CPUs/etc to get Hentai a minimal working FreeEMS hardware setup, that's be great!

I have 3 bare Jaguar A3 boards left, I could set him up with:
a PCB,
the MCU with the Serial Monitor loaded,
the MAX9926,
the USB UART
and the Injector/Fuel Pump/Fan drivers.

This will be a functional MCU/all silicon components board with the capabilities of a TA board.
By the way, you will need to use the input labeled MAF but you will need to condition/protect the MCU input or use the MAT input and cut the trace leading to the MCU (I can provide that service or show a photo of that for you to do) and connect that conditioning/protection circuit to the MAF-Signal input to the MCU.

Now can someone else supply him with the rest of the passive components?

Deuce, do you mean with the essential decouple caps so you can load the CPU on that very board? You can feed it 5V from outside the board during loading, no probs there.

Yes, it will include the decouple capacitors, but only for the MCU, Hentai will need to source the other passive components (ie: the decouple capacitors for the MAX9926, the FTDI and the 74HC86).

I think that you weren't the only one! Now he can complain about FreeEMS instead. That'll be a nice change. It's hard to get people to complain :-)

I could send him my jag pcb. I will bridge the tx and rx lines so the comms will work without optos. I could populate whichever circuits he needs before i posted it too!

Prefer that you keep yours and get some testing out of it at the rate other things are moving :-)

If Sean wants to help me get his code up to date so that I can run the fuel and ignition off of one mcu, I'll have an extra TA card.

I wouldn't recommend that just yet. Looks like Andy has kindly covered it anyway. It's up to hentai to see it through now :-)
