hello
just wanted to let people know a little about what im going to try and achieve with my car. i got a 2005 dodge neon srt4 that i want to make a lot of whp out of. i'll be around asking questions and reading on stuff.

Re: hello
quick question. is the code avaiable for the 36 +2 -2 (i wanna say its ngc(dont qoute me)) wheel thats in the dodge neon srt4.
Re: hello
quick answer, no, not yet, but should be pretty easy to add if/when someone genuinely needs it :-)

Re: hello
ok what about map sensors and idle air controler's?
Re: hello
Could you be more specific?

Re: hello
my car does not use a maf sensor. instead it uses a map (manifold apsolute pressure) currently my car is using a 3 bar map. since it has no maf the ecm uses an idle air control motor to open and close the throttle body flap to regulate the idle air flow.
Re: hello
OK, you threw me off by asking about MAP, which is the default and so standard/basic/required that it's assumed :-) 3 bar MAP is no issue, best if you have an accurate calibration for your particular variety. You can measure it if you can't find it accurately online.
The idle air situation could be difficult or easy. You need to be still more specific about the exact hardware involved, pwm valve, stepper, drive by wire with idle controlled purely by that, etc. In all cases, it's possible, though some might cause you hold ups.

Re: hello
im being told the iac is a stepper solenoid irrc. what ever that means.
not that this is in the current scope of vanilla. i was curious if you or the hardware guys could answer this for me. would it be hardware possible to use some sort of dac. there would need to be 8 or 12. havn't settled on either using 8bit or 16bit, thinking 16bit for finer resolution. i was wanting to have the cpu pass the value to a dac which would hold the respected voltage/current to a solenoid until the cpu passes a new value. (kinda how audio is done.) this is an eventual goal for my engine.

I'd say google it, but Fred would probably slap me, so duckduckgo it.NinjaRider wrote:what ever that means
Being told by who? I had never heard of a stepper solenoid, so I duckduckgo-ed? it, and apparently it's an actual device that they use in CVT transmissions. Odds are you have a stepper motor.NinjaRider wrote:im being told the iac is a stepper solenoid irrc
I don't see any reason why FreeEMS couldn't control a digital to analog converter other than no one has written any code for it yet.NinjaRider wrote:would it be hardware possible to use some sort of dac
I could be wrong(it's a pretty common occurrence), but I'm pretty sure stepper motors and most likely stepper solenoids are controlled digitally. Plus this processor supports PWM so you could just use a transistor with PWM and get about any kind of analog output your heart desires.NinjaRider wrote: i was wanting to have the cpu pass the value to a dac which would hold the respected voltage/current to a solenoid
To control the idle with a little valve?NinjaRider wrote:this is an eventual goal for my engine
