Re: What do I need to buy for FreeEMS?
The FAQ says: "That's a tricky one! More info to come." and I stand by that statement! :-)

As for your thread, I don't know what you're talking about.
Fred.
Right now if you want hardware you have a few options:
- Wait
- Build DIY stuff using TA card - this isn't that bad, there are 5 TA based FreeEMS units around the world, two daily driving, one parked up, one not finished, one retired.
- Design your own hardware - this assumes that you're god like and have a lot of free time as it will likely take longer than the first option.
As for your thread, I don't know what you're talking about.
Fred.

Also a little new to all of this as well and your question troubled me for a little while to.
Guess you could say the FreeEMS project is in a stage of stabilising its hardware platform. The TA card solutions seems very custom, you added additional hardware based on your requirements, which everyone did a little differently. Have a look in the forum, Board index FreeEMS Hardware Development » DIY viewforum.php?f=62
Ravage is a different beast, if you read the threads (I have not read all of it personally, its massive) there has been an amazing design review process. As it stands now you would need to be a serious expert to come up with your own design that was equal in quality. So its worth the wait.
My car is itching for an EMS, but as Fred told me, by the time I get everything else ready the Ravage project should be ready and if not I can make the call to wait or go down the TA card path. So far Fred has been on the money.
Do as I did, start asking specific questions to get a direct answer.
You have made me interested in adding HHO to my LPG engine... maybe at a later stage

LOL Your thread made me think to control HHO level to an engine but to use one value for that. The question I had was what is the pressure to make that value to work?

Whether you mean an IDE or firmware loader, you should wait till you have a need for such things.what to program with
Again, you've got nothing to wire up yet, once you do, ask again.what to connect to what pin? Is there a link for what pin does what,
I don't know what "a program software" is.with a program software?

Re: What do I need to buy for FreeEMS?
Goto the TA site and learn what the TA card is all about, what the expansion pins offer.
Then read some ones build thread to see how they have used it. This will help you understand Puma or Ravage designs alot more and how to customise if needed.
Read the code, its well written and has good comments. You only need basic ANSI C knowledge to get the drift.
You need to spend time figuring it out yourself, there is no detailed getting started document. If the above is outside your comfort level, maybe reconsider what you are doing.
