CCFL Angel eyes side lights for BMW's Warning!!!

Post by davebmw »

OK now I know I bought these off ebay so thats kind of asking for it but I had them for a song so i could not complain too much.
Now these angel eyes look cool when you first get them but after 12 months i had one of the inverter packs blow the transformer and 2 months later the other one has just burnt out one of the driving mosfets and blown the fuse for the right hand side and tail lights and all the instrument backlighting too!

Plus in cold weather the tubes never warm up enough to light all the way round and the kit provided to fit them is S>H>I>T>E.

So in short don't buy Cold Cathode FLourescent angel eyes kits off ebay they are pants.

Now EBay HID kits thats a different matter they are really bright and reliable.

For the un-english, pants = underwear, not trousers. If you say "I took off my pants" in NZ and UK you will get VERY different reactions ;-)

Actually quite funny to intentionally misuse the word here :-)

Pants = undies = boxers = jocks

Pants != trowsers.

Not so much a swear word, but in the right/wrong context, highly amusing.

"Pants" in this instance is meant as "rubbish" or equivalent.

Huh? Trousers are spelled differently in NZ too! out of interest you do wear them in the same way as us POHM's??

What other antipodean wonders are there in the good old NZ? next you'll be telling us there are furry fruit and birds with no flight!!! ;)

The furry fruit are chinese unfortunately, and the spelling is partly down to me being a poor speller, and partly down to me getting SFA sleep at the moment ;-)

And no, I didn't get it, probably should have from context though.

Finally, I'd like to point out that I did spell it correctly in an earlier post, and also that I'm not editing my mistakes away.

Speaking of mistakes...

Today I saw the time, organised my things, got up from my desk, and called to about 10 people "have a good weekend everyone" which didn't bother anyone much except my "manager" who said "but you were going to show me those files at 5!!???" to which I replied, "I was, but you never showed up at 5" to which he replied "umm, its not even four" to which I replied "oh shlt" and blushed slightly while everyone roared :-) It was VERY funny!

Must be one of those days...

Ha! brilliant! Don't worry you are not alone in that, in 2006 my wife and I decided to take a holiday to the dominican republic for 2 weeks. It was meant to be a dream holiday god knows it cost enough! but it was such a shlt holidays with cockroaches in everything bed and all, that we really were looking forward to going home. So we went and had our last breakfast outside of the hotel because the hotel food was cr@p, we said goodbye to everyone we had met and went back to the room and packed our cases up.
we wheeled them to reception only to find that we had lost all track of time and our departure day was the next day.
At which point we wheeled our cases back to the room looking particularly stupid and spent the day bobbing around in the sea which was quite nice if not a bit sharky!

It really is one of those days isn't it. I forgot to finish my story.

The reason I was early was the 24 hour clock. I simply did not see the leading 1 in 15:42 ... :-)

Mmmmm cockies, my fav.
