Sitting here with an old friend, and hooked her up with BT access to the amp and speakers, and all of a sudden she commented on the crispness of the bass output, so we got talking, and I got digging, and went through this old thread. So, update:
Listen to these almost every day, have done for 1.5 years or so. Love them.
Tweeters are still a little bright, still needs active cross overs, but the overall sound is still clean and nice, in general.
15+ year old amp is still rocking along untouched. Win.
Fred.

Might be time for some aesthetics at some point soon: https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 5299771392https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 1085427712 Native NZ wood drawers out of my friend's old kitchen. Front pieces are thick enough to split in two. Rest is 12/13mm and can be used as is, or run through a thicknesser to reduce/smooth it a little. One draw is missing right now, but with that, I think there's enough to cover the speakers! :-) Should look gorgeous. :-D
