You have a headlight missing :-) just thought I'd point that out ;-) Nice E30 and nice donk under the hood!

LOL!

I was going to add something about headlights and the lovely passenger but I don't think it would be appropriate and besides we don't see enough of her ;)

LOL

I wanted to see more of that solid looking prick behind the wing mirror, but the passenger would be even better :-)

Thanks for putting the face on the name, the personal touch is important on such a project that HAS to be fairly close knit. I also appreciate your thick skin! It's nice to not mince words and not have the recipient run away crying too :-)

Respect earned! (most people just get defensive and sulk!)

Fred.

the opposite in fact, pure function, even tho it makes the car look ugly (as bimmers should be)

HA! you got the wrong guy, buddy, the solid prick behind the wing mirror is not me (he's a very cool local bimmer-head tho)
btw, I am actually quite sensitive and will easily get into an e-brawl if i feel someone gets my internet ego bruised ;)

there i said it.

No no, I have no idea why, but I didn't think that dude behind the car was you, oh, wait, yes I do, you were taking the picture ;-) Either way, it was just a wise guy comment with no particular meaning.

I maintain what I said, I've given you your fair share of stick, and you haven't sulked, just carried on and got on. It's good. Arguing about something intelligently is different to being defensive and sulking. Very different. Just take the compliment :-p

What have you got for a water/bug/etc trap behind that hole in the front?

Fred.

Ha ha, thanks then

there is no bug trap, just the cone filter behind it. This was temporary anyway. I will either rig up a proper airbox from a big bmw engine or make a longer cold air intake. In the case of my car, this really makes a difference as the engine generates a lot of heat and as you can see there is very limited space under the hood. I feel like i loose 20-30 hp in the summer because of engine bay heating up (probably a combined effect of less dense air coming in and the ignition retard due to air being too hot). MS was showing 60-70deg celcius in the intake manifold on a hot summer day - that can't be good for performance

WOW, I still have all of my headlights, and at 17psi of boost I had 25 celcius intake temp, 60 - 70, thats shocking! And like you say, bad for performance, and knock too!
