Autronic 8860 (from the other thread) (nice units too)

Looks cool, very stealth :-) I like that!

Have you dragged it at all?

LSD ?

Cheers for putting up the thread, good to see it :-)

EMS8860 - Made by Engine Management Systems Australia http://www.enginemanagementsystem.com/ I believe they have a northern US presence also.

LSD - no. The diff is open center atm, I have a 'Lokka' made by 4wd systems here in australia. Its currently in the back seat in its box hahaha. The car is currently having the gearbox rebuilt for the second time (it would seem that the 3-4 clutch pack wasn't good enough even after a big dollar build) While its there they are doing some R&D on how to get a reasonable stall with my cam without losing stupid amounts of power. Once thats done the lokka will go in and I'll run it again.

It has only been down to the drags once, and it was early on. I was making 250rwhp and ran a 13.5 on street tyres with full interior, stereo, spare tyre and jack in the boot the lot. It now makes about 150rwhp more than that so we'll see what it runs. I'll be happy with a mid 12 with the same compromises. With excess weight removed and slicks I want an 11.99 or better. So its not fast by any stretch of the imagination but its ok for the money its cost so far.

If you don't call 12 - 14 fast you've been reading too many magazines ;-)

Not sure why I had attached "autronic" to the stinger Image

I was thinking of the correct product : http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=TS3G7c4xhgE

Nice units even if something he says about that wrx is BS. (being fussy, can't remember what)

Fred.

I need more info on this. I'm a Ford Technician(in the USA) and have never seen a Ford power plant like that. please list some specifics.

This is an australian engine designed specifically for the modern falcon which is not found in the US or europe. It is 6cyl Inline OHC iron block alloy head 4L. Its long stroke and fairly large ports/valves make for an engine with good torque and the possibility of power if modified correctly. There is now a turbocharged DOHC variant in the most recent falcon model which is highly popular here. The downside of the newest model however is weight, they are about 3-400kg heavier than the earlier e-series models which never came turbocharged. By adding a suitable turbo and all the things that go with it - fueling, ignition, ems etc they are very potent engines. My engine has done 300,000kms and the bottom end is exactly how it came out of the factory, its never been rebuilt or anything. My house mates made 520rwhp on a stock bottom end and was fine for about 30,000ks (engine was 250,000 when fitted) before it broke a ring land.

Thats pretty f*cking sweet, man. Sometimes I hate our car market over here. Ford does have some interesting engines/vehicles on the horizon though...
