This is my 1997 LR D1 V8. Its a capable 4x4, easily keeping up with modern 4x4's, as long as you know what you are doing.
It's pretty standard, centre diff lock and low range, automatic. The ECU is of course not standard
The engine was originally a Buick all-alumunium construction, designed in the late 1950's. Land over persisted for long time with this engine. Its a pretty awful engine but somebody has got to love it.
I rebuilt the engine at 240kk. New liners and rings, used the same pistons, new bearings of course.
It is currently running the venerable Megasquirt 1 with Ford EDIS ignition . It goes very well but is very thirsty.
I'm hoping to use this car as a testbed to get EDIS working with Freeems
