So in summary the flywheel is bolted on 45 degrees wrongly (one bolt hole off) and I need to do one of these things:

1) Pull engine and rotate flywheel to suit factory regina ignition system.
2) Replace regina with FreeEMS and finish code changes to scheduler to allow it.
3) Crush the car
4) Drill a second sensor hole in the bell housing thingy

And until then it's parked and not being driven! I have just over 2 weeks until it needs a new WOF, so ideally I should do one of those thins before then.

Picked it up off the side of the road earlier and brought it home for a quick getaway tomorrow arvo after work. Time for its first WOF in my possession, fingers crossed :-)

I doubt I'll get a chance to pull the engine and fix the flywheel angle before next year, sadly. Ditto the ECU option. Oh well. Some time in January for sure as I want to use it, it's a sweet little car.

Car was in daily use for some time, then got some abuse from some neighbours, then ran out of gas (almost), then got parked for the last month while I worked on the 240 sedan and 740 sedan, then I went to start it tonight and:

Spluttered, ran briefly, died, fuel pump sounded different, last of the fuel had promptly evaporated (over the last month, and maybe there was SFA there at the beginning of that anyway...).

So I took the 240 sedan to the local Mobil and got 20l of 98 RON and poured it in and she burst into life as per usual.

Took it for an extended drive/idle to recharge the battery from the excessive cranking attempts.

Ran well. Still rattling below about 3k, but 4k up to about 6k with a 6300 or so cut was pretty good for a SOHC piece of junk :-D quite rowdy with the "pod filter" intake, too. More so than even the 240 with no intake at all.

Good little car. Want to use it more enthusiastically. Needs engine pull/flywheel rotate first, though. Very soon. Only one other thing trumps it, I think.

Cleared out the boot, cleaned off the mould, dried out the interior with heat on full for half an hour plus. Boot now looks like this: https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 6780018690

And weird rust issue in roof, flakes end up coming out holes at hinge points! Check it out:
