length x width x height
350 x 250 x 100 offset/centre config (centre at rear, offset at front)

But the car could accommodate:

400 x 350 x 125 max same config

There's a stainless steel glass packed perforated in that config in this size:

330mm X 230mm X 100mm which is smaller than stock.

But I'd prefer to go up in size, or stay the same, not go down.
Bought exactly that 330/230/100 unit for 95 shipped and two pairs of vband flanges and a clamp per end to graft it into the stock exhaust.

Also took a few photos of the aft muffler and re measured.

Existing rear is:

400 long
190 high
? wide

But there's 40mm hanging below the plasticware (that's never hit anything, so not an issue) thus it could be up to 200 high without drama and 150 high would make it tuck under perfectly.

Length wise, 100mm longer forward and up to 50 longer rearward possible.

Fitment, exit (to match bumper) is on the left hand side, and entry on the right or centre, but not left.

I think what I'll do is leave the stock rear in place for now and only fix it if nagged, then it's a relatively small simple fix job once the ordered gear arrives.

Also bought, out of laziness, a pair of steel cones to adapt 3" to whatever the stock size is.

Considering putting a resonator in across under the subframe after the muffler I already bought to further soften things. Unlikely to be necessary now, but when the rear muffler is also straight through it may be.

If I don't do that, then I'll probably extend the new muffler backward with 3" tube at least until it curls upward to the rear muffler.

^ never updated this thread. Replaced the muffler maybe a year ago or so? Sounds about the same - sounded pretty good with no mufflers ringing it out up on the hoist before welding the new stuff in :-D

Link to RB30 4wd swap on gtr.co.uk: https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/rb30-engi ... ics.52458/ some good stuff there, but photobucket used, so all banner covered.
