Did a bit of work this weekend just gone, hauling 800-1000 litres of various marine fluids short distances in the trusty trailer:

Happened to have the bonnet up tonight in the dark while I jump started the Lantis and because I was using some crappy borrowed commercial jumper leads rather than my awesome low resistance DIY set, I had some time to contemplate life, and examine my running engine.

Surprise! The missing that I've noticed again since I changed the plugs again, arcing on the coil again.

Now this time, I'm thinking maybe the coil isn't at fault... perhaps, just perhaps, the cap/rotor/spring set is bad. Oh well. The sooner it's running wasted spark the better. I know a man that can make that happen. I know him very very well indeed :-)

Dirty with the 940 in the back ground, then clean and alone! These 240s just make me grin. Every time.

Took this for a drive to the supermarket last night for the first time in 2 weeks. Started up super easy and runs fine aside from a miss caused by sparks leaking out of main lead to posts. Bad cap/rotor/main lead has to be responsible. Two coils in a row!

Just managed to acquire these two mint-condition headlights from a friend who hooked me up. Almost unobtainium in NZ! Nearly spotless and MILES better than the two rusty reflectors and broken UV-damaged clips in it now.

In other news, I have most of the parts required to turn this into a ~300hp 16v turbo vehicle! More news in the engine building thread shortly, this is the post above: viewtopic.php?p=43927#p43927 click and scroll down to the next one, if present (will be soon). EDIT: viewtopic.php?p=43958#p43958

Oh yes, and I tried to remove the old headlights, but could not. 4/6 nuts rusted to the point of spinning the stud in the plastic housing. I see JBWeld in the future of those lights. https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 1202706433

And a close up through the glass of the (suddenly secondary) reason the old ones need to come out: https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 1202706433

No further work done to this since the attempt to remove the headlights.

The miss is getting worse. Need to do something about that before it gets undriveable and motivates me.

But she did some work today:
