Other people that aren't stuck in England have received thier cam gears :
That's the same colour as mine will be. It matches my air filter and plumbing nicely :-)
I feel very rice, but it will be worth it when the custom cams arrive (not yet ordered).

Not at all. Plenty of top-notch cars sold in dealerships and raced around the world use plumber's PVC pipes for their intakes.
