Looks like an electrical problem. The rod knocked the alternator off the block.

On the small end, 30 next to forging seam, 31 on it - for f8 rod, and 33/34 for the fe rod, f8 shank is 14.5x20 and fe shank is 15.5x22 + taper to 27 before curving out to big end, f8 are straight, no taper... mm for all units!

Figured that I'd better bump this thread with a video showing just how hard it was going before it spat out the rod :-)

FreeEMS FTW!
Enjoy!

This video is the reason why I ended up here. It convinced me, that freeEMS is definitely worth a try.
I love the sound of your car, it was (is again?) one of the most nicest sounding 4 cylinder turbo engines I've ever heard!
What kind of blow off valve are you using?

Rewatched for context... not because I don't have a fast car in Spain...
"What's it revving to?"
"Urr, I don't know!"
LOL.
It's a three cylinder oil spreader that is in storage at the moment, sadly. If/when I get some cash in Europe I may get a 325 and do something to it. We'll see. So no, not running, really. It did start up after it threw the last rod, but it shook like hell :-)
BOVs are twin 38mm R32 GTR Skyline (the real GTR, not like the current toy) units in their original housing as seen here:
Thanks for the compliment! I wouldn't say it sounds nice, but nothing with nice flowing equal length exhaust manifolds ever do ;-) It doesn't sound bad/harsh/obnoxious, though. It's a bit loud for my tastes, so in future I'll add another muffler or two and possibly a zig zag in the 3" tubing. It'd be nice to have the same sound, just less of it :-)

PS, it's a shame that we can't get Sean to post some vids of his turbo beasts... I'm certain they'd attract users too.
