DaWaN's Civic EJ9

Post by DaWaN »

Hi there,

I have been reading this forum for quite some time and I think it's time to show my car.

Currently I'm still a student so funds are very limited. I like track racing so I customized my Civic a bit to that.

The Civic is a 1996 1.4 hatchback, chassiscode EJ9

What I did to it:
Put in a D16Y7 engine with D16Y8 cilinderhead and a D13B2 gearbox
This engine is a 1.6 liter SOHC engine equipped with VTEC
Changed the ECU to a 92-95 model (these ECU's are called OBD-1) because that ECU can be remapped and features like launch control can be added
The software I use to map the ECU is called CROME:http://www.tunewithcrome.com/
I also got a different exhaust header, catalyst and complete exhaust
The engine will soon be mapped and I expect power to be in the range of 125-135hp
The gearbox is from a 1.3 which has short ratios :)

I also changed the chassis a bit, added Integra Type-R brakes to the front
Added a front swaybar and I put Civic Type-R springs and shocks under it
Soon a bigger brake booster and rear brake discs and a rear swaybar will be added

Apart from the stock ignition system I think FreeEMS does not have many advantages over the stock ECU for daily use.
Most likely my first FreeEMS engine will be in another vehicle but now you guys know atleast what I drive :)
