DeuceEFI: Did you throw the AC system together in a brute force manner or did it require special prep and line decontamination? I would think the latter's necessary in all cases, but far less of an issue than with an already-in-use system.

ToxicGumbo: After I assemble the AC system I run a vacuum pump on the closed system for anywhere from 6-8 hours to pull all the water out of the system and then I leave the vacuum gauge attached with the vacuum pump off for 4-6 hours to check to make sure there are no leaks before filling the system with oil and refrigerant.

Putting this here for future reference since this is what is in the Deuce (donor vehicle 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera):

GM VIN code "M" 1994-1999 3100 SFI V6 - 191 cid
AC Delco Fuel Injectors part #17113572 / #2171388
Multec 1
Maximum Flow: 17 lb/hr @ 43.5 PSI

From Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_60%C2%B0_V6_engine#L82

The L82 ("M-code") was an updated, SFI replacement for the MPFI LH0, produced from 1993 through 1999. It featured a structural oil pan, a stiffer redesigned engine block, sequential fuel injection and revised aluminum heads. Output for the L82 was up 20 hp (15 kW), over the previous Gen II LH0, to 160 hp (119 kW) at 5200 rpm and 185 lb·ft (251 N·m) at 4000 rpm. Compression Ratio for the L82 was 9.5:1 and the bore measured 89 mm (3.5 in) while the stroke was 84 mm (3.3 in) giving it a displacement of 191 CID (3,136 cc).
