Oh, well, that rules out the Toyo offerings then! :-)

Re: Mk 1 Mini
This is how I made my 8-1 trigger wheel.
There are much better ways to do this, but this is what I have got and it works for me.
I took a standard crank pulley and machined 7 slots in it.
I then took 7 fridge door seal magnets and glued them in to place.
These magnets sat above the surface of the pulley.
I then used fibre glass and covered the whole surface.
I then finally, I used a lath to clean it all up.

Re: Mk 1 Mini
I am running a hot cam and I only have one MAP connection on one side on the manifold. cylinders 3 and 4. This creates a interesting pattern with a MAP reading pulse every second 360 cycle.
Fred recommended that
I drilled and taped a new hole in the manifold.
I then screwed in to brass fittings and made sure they were nice and flush inside.
I then used some old brake line to make the balance pipe.
I soldered all the bits together. Because the manifold was a big heat sink I heated it up in the oven first.

I managed to find all the bits I needed along with the correct size tap.If you create a little balance tube set up between the runners and feed the map from that

Re: Mk 1 Mini
That should work pretty well, though it would have been cooler to just put a fitting on each and put the T or Y elsewhere which would have allowed a two map sensor approach. GIven how you've done it, I doubt there is much/any advantage in two, though. Nice work! :-)

Re: Mk 1 Mini
Well done, will look much better than two hoses with a plastic T somewhere
I'd be interested in where you're going to put the fuel injectors, once you go injection too. I'm guessing as close to the intake ports as possible?

Re: Mk 1 Mini
Didn't need to be plastic! Could have been brass too :-p Might look better, but if it doesn't work perfectly, there is more pain in pulling it off etc, where a two connection + hoses and T setup would be tunable and adjustable and configurable without much pain. That's all. Not the end of the world and there is a 99% chance that it will be fine.ehb wrote:Well done, will look much better than two hoses with a plastic T somewhere :)
Spudmn, you say "big" cams, do you know the duration? I've seen some "hot" cams advertised for old engines with less duration than mild OEM twin cams seem to have. 50kPa isn't great, but it's not terrible either, and having the intake events the way they are gives it much longer to fall back up to 100kPa than a normal manifold would get.

I absolutely love that sticker! I want like 5million of them!
Re: Mk 1 Mini
Man! We need to get you a smaller one! That one will obscure your visibility!! :-o Love it, though :-)
BTW, the ones in this thread have cut outs so they aren't a huge square blob of whiteness. Still big, though.
Mind if I upload that pic to "the social network" ?
Fred.
