So far, nothing has been done for an 0.8-alpha version of the Jaguar PCB.

Is there any interest in a newer version of the PCB?

If there is any interest, then what would you like to see changed?

Keep in mind it needs to be able to be used in many different engine configurations, so there will always be either jumper wires or jumper blocks to configure various outputs.

From my perspective, it's a great little board with one major flaw:

Power supply noise immunity.

Whilst it is vastly better than the earliest one with the incorrect ground plane situation under the MCU I think it's still not really good enough for the harsh environment that they live in.

On some cars it's fine. On others it's nearly impossible to get away from CPU lockups and other nonsense.

I had intended to trawl through the RavAGE thread where a number of people harshly criticised the power supply in that, which was similarly simple in nature. I wonder if some of their suggestions were spot on and if my own comments have aged poorly?

Other than that, the lack of connectors was always a pain. It'd maybe be nicer if it was:

4 layer for proper ground/power planes and better noise immunity
100x200mm PCB size or thereabouts allowing room for a better power supply AND maybe some more optional-to-populate features
molex connector footprints - suits the budget/DIY nature of it IMO

Another option would be to pay someone with Altium experience to resurrect Dan's project and make similar changes to it, increasing the size and robustness and ease of getting going.

It's the point to point wiring for the connectors that makes it hard work to use them, fixing that with simple cheap molex connectors would be a big win IMO.

It'd be cool to dig into this again with you - if you're up for some ambitious changes I'd be happy to spend some time on the phone/video chat/screen share/whatever to assist in that process :-)

After the last of the shit leaves the fan blades mid/late January though.
