It's that time of year again, where I bump this thread and wish everyone a:

Merry Christmas! And a FreeEMSed new year! <3

Thanks for all of your support!

The last year has been interesting in many ways, and the next one will be even more interesting. I believe a certain member has a Christmas present for me, that should fire up in the next few days. Fingers crossed :-)

Fred.

Ho ho ho, and a merry Christmas to you and you and you (y'all).

It's been an exciting year with one of my favourite platforms falling victim to FreeEMS and other interesting developments. It's also been a stupidly busy year with work and moving house and buying the fleet and bringing them up to scratch (still ongoing). The main thing that's missing is good user software. This will be my personal focus in the coming months with a secondary focus being mentoring local trustworthy people to enable them to achieve in other areas in parallel. I'm also going to regain my placing in the prolific FreeEMSer thread with 4+ more installs, somehow :-p Daily driving is the answer to improved code. Dog fooding. Speaking of food, it's time to run off to my sister's place for xmas day breakfast. I thought of you first <3 :-)

Till next year!

Fred.

Merry Christmas 2016 Edition

I'm 99.9% sure that no one reads this, but what the hell, it's a tradition! :-p

Merry Christmas to everyone, everywhere. Stateside, Europe, Asia, Africa, Sud America, Britania, and all other slices of this weird, wonderful, wild and somewhat terrifying modern world. If you're running FreeEMS derived code, no matter how patched, or intend to, Merry Christmas to you!

"It will be reported to be a difficult year, a tumultuous year" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4S0ME8Xyc0

She's not wrong! Ups and downs, highs and lows, and everywhere in between. 1/3 of the year was taken from me outside of my control. The most recent third has been a whirlwind. The first third was more of the same as last year - solid.

The fleet are doing better (except a casualty, and a disassembly), but only one got FreeEMSed this year, with one more failed (for now) attempt.

The code is doing well, coming along nicely, and some cool new stuff got put to use on the race track in Florida, and the mean streets of West Auckland, too.

This year I managed to have a non-commercial Christmas with a gift truce between family members. Win for everyone except the retailers and Chinese. But I did buy one small thing for someone special who'll probably read this... I hope he likes it! :-)

Anyhow, I should crawl out of bed and have some breakfast before my lovely wife cues me to call her in Spain.

Until next year,

Your fearless leader, Fred.

Ho ho ho, merry Christmas to y'all! :-)

Things are busy, but I'm hopeful of pushing out what I'm calling "latent code" as there's a LOT of great work tested and in various states of finish that should be being enjoyed.

This summer I plan to enjoy the ocean, cars, and maybe some quiet time with a laptop.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Despite already being back at work, it's great hearing my truck fire up on FreeEMS in -15C and make the drive in over unplowed, snowy, roads. Years of trouble-free and independent driving.

2018 will be the 10 year anniversary of Fred's original "quiet time with a laptop" to create FreeEMS. It's going to be a great year!

Damn, in the whirlwind of ultra-busy craziness I had actually managed to forget about that!

January 1st 2018, a time to toast to the experiences had and people known as a direct result of that venture.

Thanks for the timely reminder, Jeff!
