The other night it came to my attention that some web functionality was broken in various places, that is almost certainly still the case.

I'll endeavour to correct that when I get a chance, likely the week after next, but if you see anything wrong with something you need to use, please let me know and I'll try to sort it sooner for you.

Some unexpected down time at the data centre due to a power outage. Sorry about that. Just as I was trying to show someone a photo served by the server, no connection. Doh!

Planned downtime of up to 2 hours (WTF?) at the following date/time: 1st July 2019 9:00:00 AM UTC

Not that anybody cares, but...

Also, I have plans to migrate almost everything off the current host into less expensive more efficient more modern solutions. But unlikely to pull that off before the above date.

When this does happen, will anything obvious and user-facing getting the boot? (eg. locally hosted images)

Thanks for the head's up.

Nope, should be transparent. Mirror the content, switch the DNS over, done. :-)

The crusty old server that this forum runs on has been marked end of life and some time between now and the 22nd of March I will need to do some backups and do a shut down and migrate and reboot to new hardware with more resources. I think there was a reason why I didn't do this earlier, but I can't recall what it was. I really need to replace the whole shooting match and dockerise the whole lot and put an nginx and letsencrypt/acme setup in front of them with only the database engine(s) running directly on the host. But I don't think that'll happen this time. Much of the content I want to take off the server entirely and put in B2 with Cloudflare in front, but again, too busy right now, so that'll have to wait, too. Cross your fingers it all goes well, but there's a chance it won't and there'll be some down time while I enjoy yacht racing in person and get life chores done. Sorry in advance if it comes to that. I'll try hard to make sure it doesn't. Just setting worst case expectations. Cheers, Fred.

Ha ha:

uptime
22:35:49 up 513 days, 17:22, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.00

That's when reboots start getting scary :-D
