Intercooler thermocouples?

I believe you guys are thinking thermistors, not thermocouples.

Thermocouples would give you better accuracy but I am guessing all that is needed is the ability to see what the temp. difference across the intercooler. In that case IAT thermistor sensors should be sufficient to measure to the nearest degree.

If you have trouble with vibrations and the open-element IAT sensors, try working a bit of sensor-safe RTV sealant in to support the two legs in the exposed sensor tip (without covering the actual thermistor).

Not sure if it could be hacked to move the sensor to remote mount?
A pair for $20.00AUD would be a reasonable cheap solution.

I was browsing through a couple of catalogues and found these little LM315, LM325, LM335 in a TO92 package.
They have a linear output for temps -55 to 150, -40 to 125, -40 to 100degrees celcius respectively. Only a couple of bucks each.
