My open source Wideband Controller, SLC Free

I have decided to release an open source version of my SLC commercial products, 50% to for publicity the other 50% because I want to give back to the open source community. SLC Free is the name of the open sourced wideband controller.

This is the first spin of the hardware, and things are working fine.

I plan on getting my design published in electronics magazine, so firmware and PCB files will be available once my article is published.

The design is based on the Cypress PSOC Cy8C24423; 4k flash, 0.256k RAM. All the external peripherals that other wideband controllers use; DACs, filters, instrumentation amplifier, voltage references, as all built inside the PSOC microcontroller using programmable digital and analog blocks. The only external non passive components is the NFET for switching the heater and the 5v regulator.

I expect that one can build the controller for around $10 provided you have a PSOC programmer which is ~ $30 on digikey.

The design will support the Bosch 4.9 LSU.

Regards,

Alan To

Very nice mate! You have impressed the community once again! My hat goes off to you!

I have never used the Cypress PSOC's but they do look nice.

Two thumbs up from me!

Awesome, Alan! :-)

My offer still stands re help publishing the firmware in a presentable nice way. Just let me know if/when you want to do that.

Fred.

I often ask myself the same question, however I dislike the maintenance overhead of plugins ;-)

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the offer, I will probably take you up on the offer, just need to wait now for the magazine to get back to me.

so firmware and PCB files will be available once my article is published.
Great stuff! When can we expect publication? Do you plan to add AFR display?

I wonder how much modding it will take to be able to display 7.3 to 99 AFR.
