Hello Guys,
I'm choosing a wideband AFR meter with a gauge (simple but accurate).
What could you say about PLX Devices products? (DM-6 / DM-100 Gauge Combo).
They claim to use a Bosch LSU 4.2 sensor, no free-air calibration, 0.1AFR accuracy, Fast Response PID ...

But how things are going indeed?
Are they good by design?
How good/precisely they drive a sensor?

I have read this forum and know about Alan's products/controllers.
I'm sure that his controllers are the best. But I need a good-looking gauge (like a PLX DM-6: 3-modes of view, very thin - easy to mount, black color)
If the Alan's controllers (SLC Gauge, SLC DIY2) had such gauge I would buy them without any doubts.

That's why I asked to help me exactly with PLX AFR controllers. Perhaps it's design isn't so poor...

From the othet hand:

I'd personally choose the gauge independently of the controller and choose the controller based on accuracy/reputation/reliability/etc.

If I wanted an always in the car setup for a boosted vehicle, I'd likely do a cheap digital display from a linear output. I'm unsure if that's easy to do with the Spartan or not, though.

Agreed on keeping the controller separate from the gauge.
I'm partial to the Innovate products, but that is based off some admittedly old info these days.

I don't have any direct experience with either PLX or Spartan, but I don't like the fact that both max out rich at only 10:1 gasoline AFR. Other than that they both look great.

Innovate stuff will always have calibration issues in my experience, but when its working its great.. happy with my MTX-L and will use one until someone produces a nice LSU 4.9 compatible unit.

Me too, even knowing their flaws. Merp and em_knaps both have the MTXL? I think that's what it's called. It's a controller and gauge in one.

I have two PLX controllers and they've worked reliably and their current display devices are nice. I'd definitely recommend them.

How long do you use this PLX controllers? (in months/years and km)
Do you use an external fuse in a power circuit?
I have an information that:
- There is no reverse polarity protection, fuse, or over-voltage protection on their unit (SM-AFR).
And they use the lowest grade components possible.
According to the PLX support forum there are some issues when gauge is not responding...

And how they work at the below zero temperatures?
On their site an Operating Temperature = 0 - 85 Deg Celsius.
But in my region we have cold winters (-10 ... -30 C).
Is the gauge's display freezes?
