No worries re the old thread!
No idea re Vipec, which is just a rebranded Link, with all the same issues.
This died. Ray didn't have the technical skill to push it through by himself, nor an understanding of how open source culture works.

Yeah think all those ECU's were based around the same architecture and as an installer and tuner of them all, thought they were are low rate and bad design product from the outset. Although I see Link are now using new architecture though unfortunately have none at hand just to see how they have progressed. Ray was a good guy in the tuning world back then, guess as you say Free and open probably did not sit well with him, which is a pity, as a good understanding of tuning concepts and real world experience does lend itself well in the hardware development world.

G4+ isn't too prehistoric, it's the first one that ticks most of the boxes for me. It's still surprisingly limited in certain ways, though. The implementation choices bleed through to the user experience, as always :-)
