The Basement

Hello!

I am truly a "Noob"
I am looking to convert a vintage Kinsler ITB to DFI. I have a long affiliation with auto mechanics, but very little with the digital age!
I have access to a couple of different EMS's, one being a pre assembled microsquirt. Would this unit be applicable to a V8 ITB set up? Would it be capable of sequential firing with a crank sensor? If anyone has suggestions, please feel free.

Thanks in advance,
Doug

More or less, for sequential, you need a cam sensor too/instead. This is true of any EMS.

How much power are you planning, sequential isn't a huge deal unless you're over about 150hp/ litre, even then its not a huge deal. I run about 200hp/litre with batch injection no worries.

MS2 is good with ITBs MS1 less so. ITBs are generally a pain to tune.

Hope that helps :-)

Fred.

Hello Fred

After reading some of site info I have come to realize that sequential is not a huge deal, as you say. I am looking to run a very mild 275 hp to maybe 300 hp. My current ignition is an Accel dual point with a Pertronix conversion(no vacuum advance)
Do you believe the microsquirt will do the job?

Thanks!

Yes, it's just a confused ms2 in disguise anyway :-)
