I don't have any way of measuring it at this time. All my spare parts are about 2 hours away. They are symetrical though. Here are some photos of the intake flanges for you, comparing the 1g vs 2g 4g63 intakes. Hoprefully that helps you a little bit.

I wasn't going to reply because I lost the head for the 4G63 I have laying around, but I do have intake manifold. If that will be close enough I can get some measurements for you. I'm guessing you just want distance from the port centerlines or from left side of #1 to left side of #2, etc... Let me know, hope I can help here. Also how exact would you like the measurements to be?

Yes- that would work perfectly. Trying to take advantage of the readily available aftermarket manifolds for the 4G63 and adapt to my FE3 flange. My guess is the 2 & 3 ports are only 1mm off each. If that's the case, then it's doable. Just want to make sure before spending the dough. thanks, rob

measured with a digital caliper. Looking at 92.50-92.80mm depending on the hole. Variances I would suspect are mainly due to the casting procedure and debris. The way it sounds it should close enough for your purposes. Hope it helps. Good luck.

I suppose I could offer to sell you the manifold that I have, but I'm guessing your looking for a short runner design.

Thanks! Damn... FE flange measures 96-98-96. That's a more to make up for than I'd planned, but nothing's easy. I'll check the runners on the manifold to see if they vary from perpendicular to the flange at all. Did you happen to measure a port width? Sorry... should've asked in advance.

Yes- I was looking at all the sheet metal intakes. They're cheaper than buying the parts to build something. The exhaust side of the 4g63 ports seem to line up better with the FE.

Clearly what you need is something custom and non-alloy like this :

Got busy on the lunch break. Unfortunately my Sportage head has FE3n cams, not the 5s. But more importantly the OE FE manifold has runners that taper in, so there will be some convergence between the 4g manifold runners and the FE, and therefore less compromise.


Being the rapid fabricator I am, I built it in just seconds with some photos and photoshop magic.

My god Rob, that psabrication is nothing short of psectacular! ;-)

Hey, why not both, it's not like you drive the mx5 anyway, you may as well weld it inside a box :-)
