Does anyone know if optical scopes exist, and if so where you can find them? I know they are commonly used in macroscopic surgery, they even come with a finger like feature for guiding your way around. I don't see why such a device can't exist for folks that want to look down the throat of intake, spark plug hole, ect.

Yeah, just like that, but with out the stupid price tag.

I know the fiber optic it's self cost pennies per foot, I don't think the other parts really cost that much either. I'd say they are playing marketing games when it comes to their price tag. There has to be a more competitively priced product out there.

Thanks for the link.

I noticed this from wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borescope

Now knowing that borescope is a fairly common term for this kind of device, I tried this

http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q= ... a=N&tab=wf

Also fiberscope produced this

http://www.google.com/products?q=fibers ... en&show=dd

Looks like borescopes are commonly priced in the $150 to $200 range, and fiber scopes are commonly priced in the $200 to $250 range.
