Lots of other new tools between the last post in early January and this post from last night. Will try to fill out some posts at some point over winter.

This hammer is intended for separating the rod caps for the Volvo 500+hp build. Hopefully I can try it out soon! :-)

Tool acquisitions minimal recently due to a lack of funds from a wayward wife...

But, grabbed a deal on a set of reciprocating blades with a pouch: https://twitter.com/FredCookeNZ/status/ ... 2859670528

And finally bought myself a jump starter pack, top of the range, on special, trade special, 485nzd ish, inc 15% GST.

But I'm a bit unhappy with the marketing department of the company that makes it, as you'll see if you can do simple math:

And the acid test, hotel had a flat battery, managed to log both the before (flat, cranking, slowly, stalling) and the after (Project IS1500 hooked up and spinning over at a healthy 200 RPM odd).

I actually went out with intent to disconnect battery and try it, but that wasn't necessary! :-D

Scales in both windows are:
BRV 5 to 15
RPM -100 to 700
Primary -1 to 50

Specs from the logs are:

Failed start:
Prior voltage: 12.26V
Peak dip down to: 5.44V
Post cranking recovery: 9.98V
Description: Cranking sluggishly and briefly before stalling and key relaxed

Jumped start:
Prior voltage: 13.22V
Peak dip down to: 10.86V
Stable cranking @200+RPM: 11.01V
Post cranking, pre alternator: 11.7V
Post cranking on charge: 13.24V
Description: Cranking vigorously and happily, slow start due to lack of prime for max stress test of jump start device

Less than an hour later I went to start the Suzuki, same deal! Drained. That battery is in good shape, unlike the 5+ year old hotel one, but gets low if left with the alarm connected for ages.

Dewalt battery collection upgraded with two 600 gram 4AH 18V units for the drill and impact driver - I'll continue to use the 6AH 54V/18V flexvolt batteries on the big rattle gun and big 54V recrprocating saw. Tweets/pics, out of date yet again TODO:

Desires from yt watching binge:

1) Automatic centre punches, in particular Starrett 18-A and/or 18-C and/or 18-AA 35 - 60usd each depending on size on amazon - US made
2) Magnetic welding tools like https://www.amazon.com/Welding-Magnet-M ... 073Y51NZB/ and https://www.amazon.com/MAG-MATE-WS11094 ... 019Z09D8K/ and https://www.amazon.com/Strong-Hand-Adju ... 0147D5VOA/
3) Ratcheting Flare Nut Wrench Set: https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Proto-J3 ... B01H2Z0VNQ and http://www.protoindustrial.com/en/indus ... ench-Set-/ latter link shows sizes

Didn't even know those last ones existed, but saw a girl in a video using one badly and now at some point I'll have to get a set, beats every other bad option I ever used. Can't think how many broken spanners and damaged nuts I've caused by not having them.
