How silly of me to think that would go smoothly...

Any time I plug or unplug the power the screen goes funky and it locks up. Clearly the new RAM likes a stable voltage and clearly the EEE can't provide that during plug/unplug. I'll have to get a different one, any brand recommendations?

I currently have the following :

SODI102GBN/6400/2-BX
PNY branded
Optima SODIMM
DDR2
PC2-6400
200pin
800MHz

This is what came out of it :

adogc1a08342
A Data branded
DDR2
400(3)

Damn it, now I notice that it says compatible with : PC2-5300 and PC2-4300

400 would appear to be PC2-3200, perhaps this is why :-(

Fred.

It's not for the EEE, it IS an EEE lol

That would be the ultimate living room accessory!

I've now dropped mine 4 times or so. Good drops too. One caught on the headphone cord and caused the speakers to stop working (damaged the internal switch). One caused the screw between top and bottom next to the touch pad to break. One appeared to do nothing. The last one cracked the corner and broke another screw and split the monitor in half on one edge. The monitor clipped back together just fine, but the right corner is now slightly flappy :-) Disposable computers, gotta love em.

Back to 1gig of ram too, need to find a good stick for it.
