From day one, and as posted on every document page of MS (and even on the bottom of this forum) is the intent that MegaSquirt be used in educational and research purposes only. This includes MSIII.
Doesn't quite fit with what they were actually saying back in 2001 :
Al or Bruce in 2001 wrote:The system as it exists today is a complete turn-key solution: solder it together, install in the vehicle or boat, tune, and use.
Also from 2001 and quite amusing is this one :
Q: Can I sell your system or market it comercially without letting you know about it?

A: Yeah, right. My lawyers are better than your lawyers....
Commercially biased right from the start I tell you! Not us!

I was pointed to Linux vs. Minix as drawing parallels with MS vs. FreeEMS earlier today :
Linus Torvalds wrote:Well, I probably won't get too good grades even without you: I had an argument (completely unrelated - not even pertaining to OS's) with the person here at the university that teaches OS design. I wonder when I'll learn :)
LOL, man I LOVE that :-)

I once had a stand up argument with a lecturer about mathematical modeling in front of the whole class of 150. She was wrong. Still is, always was :-)

Justice served now with Linux as clear number 1. I hope the lecturer apologised (or Linus did I guess).

The Orwellian touch around here can sure be a turn-off at times.
That made me smile. :)

Was that a post from msefi/ms3efi/msextra/etc ? If so, is it still there? I'm guessing not. If not anyone got a cached copy or some context? It sounds interesting.

That's Roger Enns. I doubt they'd delete his comments :-) You never know though I guess...

I know who he is and that's what makes the comment even more interesting in my mind. What's likely to happen is that the thread will simply disappear.
