Re: Examples of MTX guages
I mentioned to David once upon a time about a bitmap underlay. I'd like to see how things would look with a photograph of the gauge!
Re: Examples of MTX guages
I suspect he wouldn't support it as it would not be portable/scalable. If it was in vector graphics though :-) Then that would be cool.

Re: Examples of MTX guages
With a high enough resolution image it's perfectly scaleable!
These things are typically going to be used on rather small screens so I don't see it being much of an issue whether it's vectorized or not.

Good point, just scale down. Trust me to over complicate it :-)

Re: Examples of MTX guages
scaling a non vector image introduces all sorts of distortion. plus the current gauge design makes it hard to incorporate outside images/files (need a container format for the gauges (on my todo list)), plus raster gfx are not the smallest sort of things either.. Its one of the things i want to do at some point, but i need to figure out how to do it easily), but i want to do font transforms first (Affine transforms), help on getting my head around the math and matrix ops in cairo would be greatly appreciated....
