Nothing fancy, just a basic interface which lets you organize the config files and make notes about them. I save configs regularly while tuning and testing, and its sometimes hard to make notes of what youve done via the file name. This should probably be integrated with the Project/Car interface if there is going to be one (tuning multiple cars with FreeEMS, and multiple configs for each one). And also possibly integrating datalogs into the car/project interface, like the config files so that you can make notes about the datalog and have it linked to the config file and such.
I agree, the config doesn't have to be JUST the ems stuff. It could have tool stuff in it too and a text field for comments is an excellent idea

maybe some xml structure like :

Code: Select all

<note>
     <title/>
     <body/>
     <interfaceVersion/>
     <firmwareVersion/>
     <date/>
</note>
or similar. Good thinking!
MegaTunix style tooth and trigger logger/display!!!!!!!!! To me this is one of the best features of MegaTunix even though I cant use with my MS2Extra yet.
I agree. Get me details on how it is achieved and I'll make sure it happens on my side. Without the right data you can't do it of course...
Configurable gauges! If youre having gauges I dont mean like MegaTunix where they all look like AutoMeter gauges or whatever, just not like MegaTune where youre stuck with 2x4 dials. I have a widescreen hires laptop so thats the root of my desire to have 2x6 gauges or however many.

I dunno about you guys, but that seems fairly horrid to me, still, the more different ones the designer looks at the better their solution will be :-)

For christs sake, keep me well away from UI design, just look at FreeTherm to see why! :-p

I don't find this wGetGUI that terrible. The FileMatrix they link to however looks like a nightmare. And I'm also definitely not a GUI designer.

Spot the developer ;-) Me neither, but we're the type to design that sort of thing so our opinions don't count really. I was quite proud of FreeTherm ;-)

I could ask him about the details for the tooth/trigger logger, but id just be telling him to email it to you so if you want me to do that.... :P

I think its just a bar graph display of time.

nah, don't bug him, he's a busy guy.

i meant as in what data the ecu provides to allow it to be displayed. the firmware must have a hand in this, curious how it is done. i can think of a few ways, but maybe there is a better way.
