Re: 2014 Nissan Versa Note SV
Post wreck/insurance payout/new car shopping, I have one regret with this car: Not claiming the DBW throttle assembly while still owning it and after it was declared a loss, but before transferring ownership to the insurance company. I don’t believe there were any legally binding conditions in writi...

Re: 2014 Nissan Versa Note SV
Thanks. I don't believe anyone anticipated the roads to be so bad and it came on sudden during work hours. A misting rain happened throughout the morning, so it appears to have frozen after abrupt snowfall. Haven't seen chains in town and you're likely right...that they don't want them on roads with...

Re: 2014 Nissan Versa Note SV
Well, that ended rather quickly. One Versa Note off the list as a potential FreeEMS car thanks to massive road ice throughout town. Me and the oldest came out of the wreck fairly unscathed. Looks like the vehicle had the laugh (see the dash photo). http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7838/46083857924_3cd4...

Re: Introductions!
I have bare A7 boards, but soldering the Freescale chip in place is no small feat. If there’s even the slightest chance you’ll hit a brick wall at such an early stage, you might want to consider buying a partial build from the designer, DeuceEFI (coolefi.com).

Re: Fred's 1991 Volvo 240 Wagon
Glad to see that this ignition miss trouble wasn't code related, but "arcing the entire length"!
Excellent it's worked out and showing vast improvement.

Last post on Craftsman drill. Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
Point taken and that's been on my mind somewhat as well. Let's assume the drill is said and done as it won't take much longer to sort out.

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
The threads on my drill parts are horrendous. So much grit. If I didn't mention it before, the whole point of this rebuild stems from the original shape I bought it in. All seemed well initially, but it turned out someone greased it with axle grease. Not only is that way too heavy a grease for a dri...

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
Self-imposed accountability for the win! After months of stalled progress on the drill, I was able to free the collar only to discover that it was frozen in the removal state. Meaning, it got wedged in place while someone seemingly was trying to remove the chuck. So I had to put some more work into ...
