Re: What I HATE About FreeEMS! - A Guide To What Sucks :-)
If you don't want me replying here, make a comments thread and move this post there. Any feedback is good feedback, even "it sucks" feedback, if you state WHY it sucks, thanks for that :) Can you elaborate on these three: [*]27/05/14 Inability to group, order and manipulate numeric values ...

Re: Project FreeEMS Powered WikiSpeed! COMMENTS
Having done almost exactly that before on a Ford Escape, that's a terrible idea, and totally the wrong way to go about doing such a thing.

Re: The Official Who's Next Discussion Thread!
Good for you. I don't have the car torn apart so everything is easily accessible, plus I've already resoldered the Jag so it's hall effect RPM input again. My priority right now is getting the 87 working on FreeEMS and on the road, since my 88 has a cracked block and is out of commission for... poss...

Re: The Official Who's Next Discussion Thread!
Yes, I cracked the throttle at a couple different values, once it opened beyond a certain point it wouldn't start at all. My best guess is that I'm not driving the ignitor drivers high enough to actually run, it'll start, but not run on it. OEM drives them to 12v, not 5v which is the biggest issue I...

Protege is nogo. It wasn't the fuel pump. Concentrating on getting #14 back up and running and to daily-driver status, so I'm out of the running

Re: Virtual Dash Solutions?
I was looking into doing TCP communications with EMStudio a while back, but it never really went anywhere. It would be easy enough to tunnel the serial stream over TCP, both directions even.
What software are you currently using for your dash and UI frontend?

Re: User Installer Preferences
The options are: * Install libs to windows folder * Install libs to system32 folder, * Have the shortcut include the necessary information to allow windows to load the libraries from a different folder (if you ran the executable directly it would fail) * Add the "EMStudio-Libs" installed f...

Re: User Installer Preferences
That's correct, the bundled DLL's are most of the size. Some applications install libraries into the system32 folder, but I feel that's bad practice.
Doing three, one for each, and one combined wouldn't be terrible to maintain, it's just an extra installer generator script.

User Installer Preferences
I am going to start making available binaries for EMSLoad, an alternative to MTXLoader and FreeEMS-Loader, and I would like some feedback from the community on what I should do with the installer. I have two options, I can either have two installers, released side by side which install to different ...

S12X Serial Monitor communication quirks
Several people have noticed, that when using FreeEMS-Loader, you have to hit load twice to get it to actually load a file. This is most noticable when you first power up in SM mode, subsequent tries typically succeed. I have managed to track down the reason for this, as the fact that the SM will sen...
