Re: Neil's Fiat/Bertone X1/9
A few ructions in my life so work has proceed slowly. I drilled out most of the spot welds in the end, but left one side of the original belly pan. I had a second pipe made up from stainless as nobody would make one in aluminium for me. the small heater pipe was made in alu. old_vs_new_pipes.jpg The...

Re: Workshop war stories
So I'm priming the oil pump with a cordless drill. Eagerly I watch the cam bearing for the first signs of oil. Nothing. Presently I notice I'm standing in a spreading pool of oil. Forgot to put the oil filter on! Sheepishly install oil filter. Try again. Nothing. Suddenly a minor explosion and OLD, ...

So when I removed the isolator, one of the legs fell off. I bridged TX, RX and ground (not the 5v). Now I can can connect with emstudio but seemingly only with windows! More investgation reveals that it is not windows, but newer hardware. Booted mint live on the windows machine and it sees the ft232...

I finally got into the old girl's pants. Not a pretty sight! pipe1.jpg I started off trying to drill out the spot welds but soon said "golly this is not worth it" or words to that effect, and just cut the damn thing open. It was not worth saving anyway, I will make a replacement out of gal...

So I've got this huge oil leak on my LR Disco V8. A Land Rover with an oil leak, stranger things have been known. Its either the the valley gasket at the back or the rear crank seal, I think. Or both. First thing is to get the mud off, just been on some serious tracks, not sure if you'd call them ro...
