Agreed, you are 100% right there. I'm sure we'll sort something out in the end.

RPM/engine position signal interpretation and implementation

EDIT : this post is pretty much garbage, but the ones further down are worthwhile, this was a month and a half ago (as at 2 March) and I was still coming to grips with how the hardware worked, and the limitations of what it can and can't do speed wise etc. Hi, I already have some thoughts on how to ...

FreeEMS summed up.

I feel a wideband controller is the last thing you would want on the board, as they are still evolving. Probably similar with knock detection. That would make MS3 a good example of built-in obsolescence. How about just doing ignition and fuel really well, KIS, and leaving some I/O (and RAM/flash) f...

Re: freeEMS firmware feature wishlist (your suggestions here!)

PWM open loop boost control (TPS, RPM, gear) PWM closed loop boost control (TPS, RPM, gear) Yep, you are 100% correct, boost should be TPS dependent for sure, without that, the system would try to increase boost as you lifted to compensate and throttle response would be extremely poor indeed. (like...

Re: Accleration enrichment algorithm discussion

Um, yeah, that would fall under "simple" algorithms. Wall wetting keeps track of un evaporated fuel on the port walls in order to know not guess how much should be injected at any time. Its integral to the fueling calculation. It says 5% of this fuel wont make it to the engine, so i need t...

Re: The Lost Soul's ride

Consequently your radiator and intercooler and oil cooler don't work as well because there is less pressure differential across them.

Nice photos though :-)

Accleration enrichment algorithm discussion

These are critical to an engine operating smoothly and being drivable. The fall into two basic categories : parameterised (TPS and MAP load based schemes) model based (gm's x-tau, toyotas 'eae', other wall wetting based schemes) with variations based on combining the two categories together in vario...

Thank you, thats already listed for idle control, however I'll add that in under the specific section for cruise control.
