Re: one old Opel - my first project

What kind of responses did you expect, LPGo? I've read your posts, but there doesn't seem to be anything interesting or otherwise informative to me. I'll continue to read your posts as my spare time allows; but honestly, until you share more information about what you are doing, it will be more of a...

Re: VolvoGuy's Jaguar 0.7 build Serial#21

Sorry... I've been really busy with projects at work... I'm moving onto the AAP and MAP next, I noticed I can't find C54 printed on any of the component packages. Looking at the schematic it needs to be 0.1uF, can I use one of the ones from the packet of CAP CER 0.1UF 50V 10% RADIAL (P/N 399-4264-ND...

Re: Andy's 1996 Chevrolet S10 2.2L Truck (16th)

Ok, it has been some time since I posted to this thread, since then I have been enjoying my FreeEMS'ed S10 and even engaged my son to help me with the tuning duties while I drive.
8-)

Currently the S10 is running on a Jaguar 0.7-alpha as shown below:

Re: Desoldering a QFP112

Use a razor knife to cut the legs of the IC off close to the body of the IC, then use the soldering iron to heat the remaining legs to remove them.

I still have 15 Jaguar PCBs if anyone is interested... :)

Re: Arttu's MS3 compatible processor board

Thanks for the clarification Fred :) I tend to design something, work out the bugs then move on to the next part of the design that needs improvement. Normally I take notes and add those to the schematics or to the TODO list, but those 10uF caps were something that Fred and I discussed 2 years ago w...

Re: Arttu's MS3 compatible processor board

I've just looked at the recommended layout in the datasheet - what a fascinating arrangement. I'm still very much learning the ins and outs of decoupling caps and ground planes etc, and I have to ask - why is there a 'star' arrangement inside a ground plane? This minimizes noise and it keeps the tr...
