Those are some "fine, quality, automotive connectors" indeed! Congratulations!
What a great way to start the day over here in the States. Keep going!

Re: Tools You Wish You Had
That tank is the bee's knees. Out here in the Great Plains of Kansas, you occasionally see that style around farms for propane (and crystal meth production). I highly respect the acid treatment you're giving it and wish I had the time to go through all that with my 60 gallon compressor. What's the b...

Re: Compiling on > qt5.6
Which branch are you using? When he added qt5 support, he dropped FreeEMS support, so using his newer source will be an uphill battle.

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
Back at work, kids and wife at their respective places as well. Good to be back in action. I had very small chunks of time this weekend, but was able to do a couple of interruptible labor-related things as opposed to sit-down-and-think. One was to start prepping the JLR CAN bus firewall build I earl...

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
"Total absence" is correct. All of us have been home all week and it took days to even want to pick the phone up beyond moments of absolute necessity. Yesterday, after regaining her appetite in a huge way, the littlest tumbled, changed hands into mine, then promptly threw up the entire day...

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
It was quick and to the point. I (much) later removed the spindle, but it's still going to be a bear getting everything apart. The bearing need to be driven in by both the outer and inner rings in both the cylinder shown above and on the spindle so that no warping occurs. I've had projects set aside...

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
Apparently it's not considered family-friendly to drive a spindle out of its bearings after the kids have gone to sleep. Another half inch and it'll be out. Guess that's on tomorrow's agenda. :( https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4331/36020152710_0e9b4856d1_z_d.jpg On the plus side, I noticed what felt ...

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
Pi3 cradle (with audio circuitry and data/power wiring) back in the car. The Pi will soon follow. Drill press status: The chuck collar absolutely won't loosen. I'm still attempting to remove the spindle and bearings from the toothed quill assembly, but this is probably the first time since factory a...

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
Thanks for that explanation. I was having trouble seeing how it mechanically worked with the Turbo and assumed voodoo. Something else you said that hit home this morning... This is true, but you can simply watch the file that it is writing, or use a serial splitter app at a first stage. Ideally your...

Re: 2003 Toxic Tacoma
After getting my Pi running as-is, the next generation of software will likely rely on this guy's work featuring Kodi as the platform. I've gotten comfortable with Kodi via OpenElec, but never thought of cramming it into a dashboard, let alone as elegantly as this guy did and with existing modules f...
