Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy

I received a Spartan2 (Purchased on Amazon) back in January. I tried to install it. The LED flashed 2x then nothing. I sent a message to Alan and got a replacement pronto. Unfortunately, I have not had time to install the new one, yet. Alan was very responsive. Also have a replacement capacitor for ...

The one marked C12
On mine C12 is marked 47uf 10v. What maladies were fixed by replacing this cap?

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy

Arrrrgh! It may not have been the LC-1 after all. Oh well. Went out to start the Saab on Monday (-5F) and it cranked slowly then started. I noticed it was running rough. Had too many things to do on Monday, so I dealt with it running rough for about an hour and a half in city traffic. My guess was I...

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy

Well, I bought a spartan2 and new sensor, 17025. Should be here by new years as I got it through Amazon. Thanks to my work that gave me an Amazon gift card for Christmas! Anyway, I pulled the LC-1 out and put in the old NB sensor for the time being. I cannot get it to 'calibrate'. If I do disconnect...

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy

Ghost from the past! :-D Welcome back! I've seen that rail to rail behaviour recently, and it turned out to be a bad connection in the power feed that would cause it to shut down as soon as it powered the heater. Took a while to diagnose as everything seemed OK on the surface. Solid after that was ...

Re: Widebands That You Would or Wouldn't Buy

OMG 33 pages?!? Thought I'd comment here. I have an LC1 been using it for 11 years! Every so often it looses calibration. If I try a free air recal, it will not do it. The result is oscillating between 10 and 20 AFR. I thought it was an old sensor. Got a new sensor. Same thing. Tried a hot recal (bu...

Re: PID control discussion

The two places they use it, which are reasonable places if not great, are boost solenoid control and idle control. All late model (1999+?) returnless fuel systems use PID control for the fuel pump. Don't forget clo2 as well. Only when you use a wide band sensor, though. Basically any control loop w...

Re: Introducing gufi's latest creation!

Ok, I read it again and still do not see why these are different. It even has a different name. I like yours as it has just the name and a check box and is smaller.

Re: Introducing gufi's latest creation!

Well, it sounds like we are on the same page. We need general usability. I agree that a scale may not be appropriate, it is just difficult to explain to someone else "Look at the off-yellow trace and see where it goes high. That is where I slid off the road and into the ditch." Much better...
