My Digidash project
Hello! One of the things I've been working on sporadically over last few years is a LED display digidash, built in the golden eighties style, but with a bit of modern technology thrown in. Here's how I wanted the thing to look: http://koti.mbnet.fi/~vendigo/stuff/digidash-render.jpg That's 518 LED's...

Re: Thermo couple input conditioning
The Maxim chip is in my favor, given that SPI is already in use. The chip needs no external circuitry, and will not eat up an AD channel. It's true that 4MHz does seem low, but for actual road-use thermocouple response time that's rather quite good. The figures I've seen for EGT thermocouple respons...

open hardware Digital readout panel
For anyone who has a mill and/or a lathe and absolutely hate figuring out the hand crank scales, here's a bit of help, a digital readout panel ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Better yet, if you have Linux, try ktechlab (@http://ktechlab.org/).... seemed pretty awesome piece of software.

Re: Hydrogen As Fuel
Using a catalyst with UV radiation (sunlight etc) would obviously give "free" hydrogen. I still see another tiny problem though; while hydrogen contains about 3.5 times the energy gasoline has per mass unit, hydrogen takes almost ten thousand times larger volume for the same mass at normal...

Re: Hydrogen As Fuel
It's easy to do the maths for on-board HHO generator systems; Regular fuel is used to create the energy that turns water into HHO; alternator won't do anything for free. A good IC engine might achieve 25% efficiency (30 for diesel). Losses in the electric line (from crank pulley to electrolysis devi...

Re: Power control of the EMS system
Looks great :) From experience, I could say wiring all the electrics into one relay requires special attention. At least in Mazda 626 wiring, main relay (for powering up sensors and solenoids) is on continuous power while the relay for fuel pump and coil is switched, and simply connecting them to a ...
