Re: spot the bug
I'm still IDE hunting. I'm looking for something that is good for old microcontrollers.. Like I have this old Ford EEC-IV brain with an intel 8061 mpu. I can't even find a real datasheet for it. I like this old stuff and want to play with it, but none of my toys do it. If I was doing IOT stuff, ever...

Re: spot the bug
I installed that. Takes a while to load but looks nice. I haven't played with it too much. Out of all of them the goofy Arduino IDE seems to load up the fastest, even though it's java hell.

Re: Fred builds his first PC
spotify is morbidly obese. Most JS stuff is. I don't really like high level code for such reasons. I tried using stuff like tinycore and other small footprint linux distros. I REALLY wish Menuetos was useable. I look forward to seeing what RTOS brings for x86. Unfortunately I think IOT is going to e...

Re: Fred builds his first PC
I have an old little HP laptop around here somewhere that has an atom. For most purposes it's totally useless. But for a terminal it's fine. Could probably use it for a media player. I think Spotify would kill it dead.

Re: Huer's interesting ideas
Well.. only 15 years off there. I don't miss my 20's really. It's been since my 20's that I'e had a decent job like the one I'm starting today :D So it wont be hard to afford that Jaguar Board now! *nudge nudge* It would be cool if that board wasn't so hard to get ahold of. We'd probably have more p...

I don't like typedef's either. One of the things that irritates me with the arduino ide. Which brings something I have been thinking about. What is everyone's ide of choice? I like Keil but it doesn't support a lot of stuff. Eclipse and atmel studio are cool, but I kinda don't like VS.

Re: Fred builds his first PC
I wonder if an intel Atom would make a good MCU?

Would an endeavor like that call for external logic? Because, to me, that's fun.

Re: 1976 MG Midget meets 1994 Taurus/Yamaha SHO
Now, you see, I WOULD have done that. Because that's the way I am also. But not her. Lol. She's had the car for a long time, and has always really wanted to fully restore it. Before she saw the evil ways of men who work on cars for a living, she had fanatical ideas about the things they did, you kno...
